n response to climate change risks, Phihong has set a structured carbon reduction path aligned with climate adaptation strategies. In March 2024, Phihong received official target verification from the globally recognized Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), underscoring its commitment to help limit global temperature rise to within 1.5°C.
Phihong has proactively advanced its ESG management efforts in recent years. In 2021, the company submitted a carbon reduction pledge to SBTi, completed its target submission in November 2023, and received final approval in March 2024. Phihong has committed to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions in Scopes 1 and 2 by 42% by 2030, based on a 2021 baseline, and to cutting Scope 3 emissions intensity by 51.6% compared to 2022. Through a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory, Phihong continuously evaluates its emissions levels, formulates effective reduction strategies, and demonstrates its dedication to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
The SBTi, launched by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), provides scientifically based guidelines, standards, and third-party-certified reduction recommendations for corporate carbon targets. By the end of 2023, 4,204 companies worldwide had received SBTi target verification, doubling from 2022. More than one-third of the global economy is now represented by companies that have set or committed to science-based carbon reduction targets, actively joining the climate action movement.
Explanation of Greenhouse Gas Scopes:
Scope 1: Direct greenhouse gas emissions from sources owned or controlled by the company.
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from energy procured and consumed internally, typically from electricity and heating.
Scope 3: Other indirect greenhouse gas emissions that occur outside the company’s control, including upstream and downstream production, transportation, raw material procurement, employee business travel, and the carbon footprint of sold products in use.

In 2024, Phihong continued its comprehensive assessment of greenhouse gas emissions for 2023 across five key sites: the Linkou Headquarters, CHINOVA in Tainan, Dongguan Plant, Taisong Plant (including ZCM), and Haiphong in Vietnam. In May 2024, Phihong officially obtained a verification statement from AFNOR Asia, a French Standards Association, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainable development.
To mitigate the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on global warming, Phihong has conducted a thorough greenhouse gas inventory at major production facilities since 2023, implementing carbon reduction initiatives. Following ISO 14064-1:2018 standards, Phihong produced a greenhouse gas inventory report, identifying direct and indirect emission sources within its operational boundaries to meet the carbon information needs of customers and stakeholders. In 2023, Scope 1 direct greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 727.7034 tons of CO2e, Scope 2 (regional baseline) indirect emissions from energy use totaled 23,853.6698 tons of CO2e, and Scope 3-6 other indirect emissions reached 2,966.0199 tons of CO2e, with an overall emissions total of 27,547.393 tons of CO2e. Notably, the combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions decreased by 4,744 tons of CO2e, representing a 16.18% reduction from the baseline year of 2021, demonstrating Phihong’s commitment to climate change mitigation and sustainable goals.
In response to climate change risks and to ensure alignment with the global 2050 net-zero target, Phihong has established a carbon reduction pathway. In March 2024, Phihong received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its carbon reduction goals, which aim for a 42% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030, compared to the 2021 baseline, and a 51.6% reduction in Scope 3 carbon intensity emissions from the 2022 baseline. Through our group-wide greenhouse gas inventory, Phihong evaluates its emission levels, formulates effective reduction strategies, and demonstrates a firm commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

In response to climate change challenges, Phihong has taken proactive steps by achieving LRQA’s ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas verification in December 2023, setting a milestone in the company’s low-carbon transition journey.
To establish specific and effective carbon reduction goals and strategies, Phihong conducted a comprehensive assessment of greenhouse gas emissions for 2022 across five key locations: the Linkou Headquarters, Tainan CHINOVA, Dongguan, Taisong (including ZCM), and Haiphong, Vietnam. This assessment covered Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from energy usage), as required by regulatory guidelines and extended to include Scope 3 emissions related to transportation and supply chain products and services. Following a year of meticulous data collection and verification exercises, Phihong received the ISO 14064-1 verification statement from LRQA, underscoring its unwavering commitment to sustainable development.
As a leading global provider of power supply solutions, Phihong recognizes its pivotal role in the industry’s value chain and views greenhouse gas reduction as a core element of its future growth strategy. Emission data serves as part of our disclosure efforts and as the foundation for our carbon reduction mission. Achieving ISO 14064-1 verification marks a critical step forward, and we have set ambitious Science-Based Targets (SBTs) to reduce absolute carbon emissions by 42% (Scope 1+2) by 2030, aiming for net zero emissions by 2050. Phihong’s commitment to realizing its net zero ambitions remains resolute as we advance toward a sustainable future in harmony with the environment.
